Dr. Anthonysamy is an assistant professor of biology in the Department of Basic Sciences, as well as an applied conservation researcher with a specific focus on urban ecology and biodiversity.

Solny Adalsteinsson

Dr. Adalsteinsson is the Staff Scientist at Tyson Research Center, where she studies local wildlife and tick-borne disease ecology. Solny also co-teaches a One Health course through the Environmental Studies Program at WashU.

Beth is the Natural Resources Coordinator and Staff Scientist at Tyson Research Center and has been conducting biodiversity studies in aquatic and terrestrial systems in the region since 2008.

 
 

Our Institutions

The St. Louis Wildlife Project is a partnership between Tyson Research Center at Washington University in St. Louis (WashU) and the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis. Researchers at the two institutions collaborate to develop research questions, collect and analyze data, and engage the public.

Tyson Research Center

Tyson Research Center (TRC) is WashU’s environmental field station, located about 25 miles west of St. Louis, in Eureka, MO. TRC brings together staff ecologists, faculty, postdocs, students (high school through graduate), and visiting scientists pursuing research at the site and in the greater metro region. Headed by staff scientists Beth Biro and Solny Adalsteinsson, the St. Louis Wildlife Project builds on TRC’s other ecological monitoring work.
